The shooting occurred in the 17400 block of Wayforest near Greens Rd just before 2 a.m. At this time, there is not a suspect description and the man is expected to be okay. According to police, officers responded to the townhome after the man pulled out a pistol and threatened his father. Officers were able to get the father and the mother out of the townhome safely but the male suspect barricaded himself in the garage that he lives in. HOUSTON, July 14, 2024 – Jesus Ventura Lopez, 17, has been charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon following a shooting incident at 7400 Walker Street around 9:10 a.m. on Sunday. The 57-year-old victim was critically injured and is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital. According to HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division patrol officers responded to a call at a residence near the incident location and found the victim with a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics quickly transported him to the hospital. HOUSTON, July 15, 2024 – Ralph Sample, 67, has been charged with murder in connection with the stabbing death of Paulette Francis, 62. The incident occurred at 8435 Tidwell Road around 2:55 p.m. on Monday. Houston Police Department (HPD) officers discovered Francis unresponsive, covered by blankets, following a report of a deceased person at the location. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. An investigation revealed that Francis had sustained multiple stab wounds. A witness who visited the location to check on Francis found her unresponsive, leading to further investigation. Sample, the victim's partner, was identified as the suspect. HOUSTON, July 18, 2024 – Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman. The shooting occurred in the 11900 block of 7th Street at approximately 1:15 p.m. on April 21, 2024. Back in April, HPD was called after a report of a shooting. There, they found the victim, Rosenda Garcia Hernandez unresponsive in her vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Houston Fire Department. According to the Houston Police Department's Homicide Division, witnesses stated at the time that a man walked up to Garcia Hernandez's vehicle before shooting multiple times into the vehicle. Unattended Cooking Sends One to Hospital After Home Catches Fire

HOUSTON, TEXAS - April 29, 2024 - One person was hospitalized following a house fire caused by unattended cooking on Sunday afternoon. The fire occurred in the 1300 block of Ruthven St., 77019, at approximately 4:15 p.m. According to the Houston Fire Department, the resident was able to escape the home before firefighters arrived but was taken to a nearby hospital for smoke inhalation. HFD estimates the damage to the home to be about $100,000.

HOUSTON – A suspect was fatally shot by Houston Police Department officers after opening fire on them at an apartment complex north of downtown on Friday. The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. at 1250 Leona Street, where officers were responding to an assault call.
