FBI Assisting HPD with Drive-By Shooting Near the Galleria Mall in Houston

Houston, TX – A man in his mid-twenties was killed in a drive-by shooting in the 2100 block of Mid Lane at approximately 6:10 p.m. yesterday. The victim, an African-American male, was driving a white Mercedes when a black Subaru with dark windows approached, and gunmen dressed in black hoodies and possibly wearing shades opened fire. The suspects fled the scene, and their direction remains uncertain.

Police Chief Finner emphasized that this was a targeted incident and urged the public to come forward with any information they may have. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the area to piece together what happened. The victim’s identity has not been released, but Chief Finner reminded the public that he has a family and called for prayers for them.

The FBI is assisting local authorities in the investigation, lending their resources and expertise to help bring those responsible to justice. As the investigation continues, police are working tirelessly to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure the safety of the community.

Update: There are unconfirmed reports that the victim was Ohio rapper BTB Savage.

This comes just hours after BTB Savage posted a photo of him standing at a crime scene at his girlfriend’s house. Allegedly, a home invasion occurred at his girlfriend’s apartment and the would-be robbers did not make it out alive. This is leading many to speculate this may have been a revenge killing.

These are unconfirmed reports and we have not been able to confirm with the Houston Police Department if next of kin were notified. Once we are able to confirm this was BTB Savage or who the victim was, we will update this page.
