Two-Alarm Fire Damages Four Units in Houston, Two Hospitalized at Cedar Branch Apartment Homes

A resident, who chose to remain anonymous,  sent in the video above of the two-alarm fire.

 

April 30, 2023 – Houston, TX – A two-alarm fire broke out at 1207 Cedar Post in Houston early this morning, resulting in extensive damage to four residential units and sending two people to the hospital.

The blaze, which began around 1:14 a.m., quickly escalated, prompting emergency response teams to act rapidly in controlling the situation. Firefighters were successful in preventing the fire from spreading further, but four units were damaged in the process: two by fire, and another two by water damage sustained during firefighting efforts.

In a harrowing turn of events, one person was initially trapped inside the building but managed to escape the inferno. The individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident. Additionally, a firefighter on the scene was also taken to the hospital after suffering from heat exhaustion.

The American Red Cross is currently assisting residents who were displaced by the fire, providing them with shelter, food, and other necessities.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and updates will be provided as they become available.
