Video: Shooting at park in Houston leaves one man dead, another in the hospital

May 12, 2023 – A shooting near Lincoln Park has left one man dead and another seriously injured.

The victims, both believed to be in their twenties or thirties, were discovered at 9400 Maxroy. The deceased man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, was transported to a nearby hospital where he is expected to survive.

Authorities suspect the actual shooting incident occurred at Lincoln Park, located not far from where the victims were found. “The only information we got from anyone is that there were likely three Hispanic males in a black Toyota Camry,” Lt. Willkens of the Houston Police Department (HPD) said.

The assailants reportedly opened fire at the park, leaving behind pistol round brass at the scene. The victims then managed to leave the area, running through neighboring yards before crashing into a tree on Maxroy street.

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear. “We just know there was a shooting there,” Lt. Willkens added. As the investigation continues, authorities are seeking help from the public.

Houston PD urges anyone with information or surveillance footage to contact HPD Homicide. “If anybody knows anything, it would be great if they could call and give some information or video,” Lt. Willkens said.
