RAW Video: Three Alarm Fire at High Tech Finishing Metal Plating Facility in Southwest Houston

May 20, 2023 – A chemical fire broke out early Saturday morning around 4:30 a.m. at a metal plating facility in southwest Houston.

The fire occurred in the 6200 block of Royalton Street @ Elm St. and quickly escalated to a three-alarm fire. No injuries were reported.

A precautionary shelter-in-place was issued by the City of Houston after the fire reignited later in the morning. (This has since been lifted).

It is not known if the warehouse was open at the time of the fire, but several employees were spotted outside of the facility.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental, but HFD is still investigating and has not released an official cause.

The business, High Tech Finishing, specializes in aviation interior plating. According to their website, they have “initiated our emergency contingency plans” and should be working on orders again soon.
