Houston, TX – A violent altercation in the 7200 block of West Fuqua this evening resulted in a multiple victim shooting that left one person dead and three others injured. The incident reportedly started outside a business due to an unknown cause. Houston police are piecing together the available information to determine the exact motive behind the violence.

Preliminary information suggests that the confrontation involved two groups of individuals exchanging fire. Authorities have confirmed four victims, ranging from 18 to 20 years old. Tragically, one of the victims, a black female on the verge of turning 18, did not survive the incident. Another 18-year-old female was transported by the Houston Fire Department to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The two remaining victims, young males aged 18 and 20, were self-transported in private vehicles to two different hospitals in the area. Medical professionals believe their injuries are also non-life-threatening.

The investigation at the crime scene has revealed a significant number of shell casings of different calibers, pointing towards the likelihood of at least two shooters. Authorities have yet to recover any weapons, and the relationship between the shooters remains unknown at this time.

Houston Police Assistant Chief Martin made a public appeal for witnesses of the incident, “We’re aware that the situation was chaotic, but we believe there might be individuals who were present and left before officers arrived. Given that most people often have their cell phones at hand, there is a chance that someone recorded a video or other evidence that could assist us in our investigation.”

The Chief further urged any potential witnesses to come forward and share their information with the Houston Police Department Homicide Division. In an effort to encourage the public’s help in resolving the case, Crime Stoppers has announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.

The story continues to unfold as authorities dig deeper into the incident, and the HPD is actively seeking tips to help in their investigation.
