HARRIS COUNTY, Texas, August 12, 2023– A man was killed Saturday after allegedly driving his golf cart through a neighbor’s fence, leading to a fatal shooting, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred in the 24300 block of FM 2100 in the Huffman area. Deputies reported that an argument broke out between two men, one of whom was operating a golf cart. HCSO Sgt. Sidney Miller said the alleged shooter heard his dogs barking and exited his house to discover his neighbor on construction machinery.
According to Sgt. Miller, upon being asked what he was doing, the neighbor replied for the homeowner to “mind his business.” The man in the golf cart then reportedly accelerated into the homeowner’s gate. The homeowner, who was standing behind the gate, was struck by it. The homeowner then fired multiple shots at the man in the golf cart.
Despite attempts by the homeowner to perform CPR, paramedics pronounced the man dead upon their arrival.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
