Houston, August 4, 2023 – A disturbance turned into a shooting in the 6400 block of Hillcroft just after 10:00 PM, according to the Houston Police Department. The incident unfolded near a Mexican restaurant where a large crowd was present.
A male, not involved in the initial disturbance, provided a statement. He described a female who returned to her vehicle and then sprayed the crowd with rounds.
There are two known victims: a male who sustained minor injuries, and a female transported to the hospital via ambulance. The female victim is in stable condition.
The Houston Police Department has not yet spoken to the female victim to gather her account of the events. The investigation is ongoing, with efforts underway to obtain surveillance video.
The suspect is possibly a young Hispanic female, but this remains unconfirmed. The involvement of the female in the initial disturbance is also unknown. Although rounds were found at the scene, the weapon used in the shooting has not been recovered.
