On Friday, February 2, 2024, at approximately 6:47 PM, Deputy A. Peters of Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office was dispatched to a crash in the 6500 block of SH 225. Upon arrival, Deputy Peters observed the vehicle in a ditch and identified the driver as 48-year-old Rachel Quezada Sorola. During the interaction, Deputy Peters noted multiple signs of intoxication from Sorola and conducted the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, which Sorola failed, indicating she was not fit to operate a vehicle safely.

A further investigation revealed the presence of a small child passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Sorola was then taken to the Clear Lake station for an intoxilyzer test, which showed her alcohol concentration exceeded the legal limit.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was notified and approved felony charges against Sorola for Driving While Intoxicated with Child Passenger. She was subsequently transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where her bond was set at $1,000.
