Stolen vehicle pursuit ends with crash into home, injuring man in bed

HOUSTON, TX – A brief police pursuit ended around 2 a.m. after a suspect crashed a stolen vehicle into a home in the 6700 block of Cotton.

Officers had spotted the stolen vehicle they were searching for in the area and initiated a short pursuit. After officers used an approved stopping technique, the driver lost control and crashed into a home.

The suspect fled the scene on foot following the crash but was detained by officers shortly after.

A 25-year-old man, who was in bed inside the home at the time of the crash, sustained injuries. He was transported by the Houston Fire Department to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
