Man killed in drive-by shooting at large gathering in FM 1960 parking lot

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A man was fatally shot in what deputies say appears to be a drive-by shooting during a large gathering in a parking lot in north Harris County early Sunday morning.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. in the 2200 block of FM 1960 West near Kuykendahl Road.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived to find the man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Preliminary details indicate that between 75 and 100 people were gathered in the parking lot when the shooting occurred. Investigators recovered shell casings from multiple calibers, suggesting that there were at least two shooters involved.

No suspect or vehicle description has been released. Deputies also noted unconfirmed reports of tire burning in the area but have not yet determined if the gathering was a parking lot takeover.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit is investigating the case.
