Murder-suicide under investigation in northwest Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a murder-suicide that occurred late Thursday morning at a two-story townhome in northwest Harris County.

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, deputies received a 911 call at approximately 11 a.m. from a woman who stated she had been shot. She also indicated that the suspect was still inside the residence. Responding units arrived to find the woman critically wounded outside the home. She was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

Deputies located a man upstairs inside the home with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim was described as a 30-year-old Black female, and the suspect as a 48-year-old Black male. Their identities have not yet been confirmed, and the relationship between them is still under investigation.

Authorities believe two children are connected to the couple, but they were not at the residence at the time. Their whereabouts are known to investigators, though their ages and relationship to the deceased are not yet confirmed.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate.
