HITCHCOCK, TX – A man was killed and a woman critically injured following a boating accident in Hitchcock early Friday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. on October 17, 2025. According to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to assist the Hitchcock Police Department after two individuals were reportedly ejected from a vessel.
The female victim was located and Life Flighted to UTMB Galveston, where she remains in critical condition. The Sheriff’s Office Marine Division and Dive Team later recovered the body of a 26-year-old male from the water. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Texas Parks and Wildlife is leading the investigation. The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, including its Major Crimes and Crime Scene units, is assisting in the case.
