Man found fatally shot by friend at home in north Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred around 2 a.m. at a residence in the 210 block of West Canino in north Harris County

Deputies responded to an in-progress call and found a 41-year-old male deceased from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper torso. Detectives learned the victim had an ongoing dispute with another male who lives at the residence. The suspected shooter had been staying at the home off and on but had not been there for several days before arriving. He is not in custody.

Two other individuals were inside the residence at the time and were not injured. Detectives believe they are related to the male who lives at the home but are not related to the victim. The victim was struck at least once and is believed to be a friend of the suspected shooter.
