Two men fatally shot in Forest Ridge subdivision, shooter claims self-defense

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – Precinct 4 deputies responded around 8:40 p.m. to a reported shooting in the 22100 block of Greengate Drive in the Forest Ridge subdivision. Deputies arrived and located two adult males who had been shot. One was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the second was transported to a hospital, where he was also pronounced deceased. The suspected shooter remained on scene and was detained.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, homicide investigators took over the case. The shooter, who cooperated with detectives, stated he had been followed by the two men for some time. When he entered the neighborhood, the men allegedly blocked his vehicle. Both vehicles stopped, and the occupants exited. The shooter said the two men began kicking his vehicle and then kicked him, at which point he discharged his weapon, striking both men.

The deceased individuals were identified as 57-year-old Timothy Underwood and 59-year-old Keith McDonald.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office stated the investigation remains active. No charges have been filed at this time. Once the investigation is complete, the case will be reviewed by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office for potential charges or presentation to a grand jury.
