HARRIS COUNTY, TX – According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a 67-year-old man was struck and pronounced deceased after a collision involving a Honda Accord in the 5100 block of Louetta Road.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:09 p.m. A Honda Accord was traveling westbound in the number one lane when the man was either walking across the roadway or in the westbound number one lane. The front left of the Honda Accord struck him, and he came to rest in the middle of the roadway.
ESD-11 responded and found no signs of life.
The driver, a 23-year-old male, remained at the scene, cooperated with investigators, and showed no indicators of intoxication. Deputies stated the section of roadway is very dark and lacks street lighting. Speed is not believed to be a contributing factor.
The Sheriff’s Office reported that the man has been identified, but no additional details are being released at this time. Investigators have not determined where he was coming from or going. Several nearby businesses may have surveillance footage, and deputies intend to review recordings once those businesses reopen.
