METRO bus operator detained after allegedly stabbing customer

HOUSTON, TX – A bus operator was detained after a customer was stabbed following an incident involving a METRO bus operator and a customer.

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. at the Greenspoint Transit Center. Preliminary information indicates that a dispute began when a customer boarded the bus and made physical contact with the operator. An altercation followed and continued outside the bus.

According to METRO, the operator later retrieved a sharp object and allegedly stabbed the customer. The customer was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition. The operator was detained at the scene.

METRO says it is cooperating fully with law enforcement as the investigation continues.
