HOUSTON, TX – A man was hospitalized after accidentally shooting himself in the leg while reaching under a seat in his vehicle in the 1200 block of Eberhard in Montrose.
The incident occurred around 1 a.m. when officers responded to a shooting call and located an adult male with a gunshot wound to the leg. Officers applied a tourniquet at the scene, and the man was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the man had been preparing to go out with his girlfriend, who asked him to leave his firearm in the vehicle. He reportedly discharged the weapon accidentally while reaching under the seat.
