HOUSTON, TX – A man was shot by a former neighbor while visiting a residence to pick up belongings around 1 a.m. in the 8400 block of Blankenship in northwest Houston.
Officers responded to a shooting call and found the victim with a gunshot wound to the leg or ankle area. He was transported to a nearby hospital and is believed to be in stable, non-life-threatening condition.
According to police, after the shooting, the suspect returned inside his home and initially failed to comply with officers’ verbal commands. A perimeter was established while officers continued issuing commands.
Around 3:10 a.m., the suspect exited the residence and was taken into custody without further incident.
Police said the two men are former neighbors and the shooting occurred following an exchange of words.
