HOUSTON, TX – One cyclist was killed and another was critically injured after being struck by a pickup truck traveling southbound on Sweetwater.
The collision occurred as the two cyclists were reportedly in the middle of the roadway. One was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the other was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
Factors such as intoxication are still being investigated, but police say the roadway was dark at the time of the crash.
