HOUSTON, TX – Three Houston Police Department officers suffered minor injuries after two patrol units collided during a pursuit of a robbery suspect near the intersection of Rushcreek Drive and Ella Boulevard in the Greenspoint area.
According to the Houston Police Department, the incident occurred as officers from Southeast Patrol, with support from DPS Air Support (102) and K-9 units, were pursuing a robbery suspect who allegedly stole a vehicle at gunpoint and fled north.
During the pursuit, one patrol vehicle struck the rear of another, causing one of the vehicles to briefly catch fire. The fire was quickly extinguished, and all three officers sustained only minor injuries. They declined medical transport and remained at the scene.
The suspect, described only as an adult male, was apprehended at the conclusion of the pursuit. Details regarding potential charges or the suspect’s criminal history have not yet been released. The Houston Police Department’s crash investigation team temporarily shut down the roadway to document the scene and clear the damaged vehicles.
