HOUSTON, TX – A man was shot after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend and two other women who intervened in the parking lot of the Wesley Square Apartments, according to the Houston Police Department.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m. in the 7400 block of Calhoun Road. Officers with the Southeast Patrol Division were first dispatched to a call about an assault in progress involving a man attacking a woman. While en route, a second call reported a shooting at the same location.
When officers arrived, they located an adult male who had been shot at least once. He was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Police say the man was assaulting his girlfriend when two other women stepped in to help her. He then began assaulting them as well. One of the women’s boyfriends witnessed the attack and shot the original male suspect.
Everyone involved is believed to be in their late 20s and in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing as officers continue to gather witness statements.
