HOUSTON, TX – Community concerns have been raised after allegations surfaced that an individual sought to obtain the home address of civil rights activist Dr. Candice Matthews following public exposure of concerns involving Nikki Jones.

According to documentation provided to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Dr. Matthews reported that screenshots of conversations show an individual identified as Brianna Lacole Gatlin asking whether “Dr. Matthews’ info [was] public” and inquiring about her location. In one exchange, the individual allegedly stated someone was “tryna black mail my momma.”
Dr. Matthews stated the communications were brought to her attention by an informant and that she viewed the inquiries as retaliatory in nature after she publicly exposed information involving Nikki Jones.

• Co-Founder and CEO at The Jackson Group
Dr. Matthews confirmed that screenshots, supporting documentation and a formal report have been submitted to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office for review.
Public court records confirm that Brianna Lacole Gatlin has a pending misdemeanor case in Harris County Criminal Court at Law No. 13. According to court filings, the charge is interference with public duties under Cause Number 259114701010. The case remains active. The defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has not issued a public statement regarding the submitted materials.
