HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A man was found deceased in the grass along a roadway in north Harris County, and deputies are investigating the incident as a crash.
Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office District 1 responded around 7:29 p.m. to the 14200 block of Stuebner Airline after receiving a call about a male possibly passed away in the grass on the east side of the roadway.
When deputies arrived, they located an unresponsive man in the grass. Emergency medical services confirmed he was deceased at the scene.
According to investigators, the reporting party stated he observed the male in the roadway and then found him unresponsive in the grass before calling 911. Deputies located vehicle parts near the body that suggest the man was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle involved fled in an unknown direction.
At this time, there is no description of the vehicle. Investigators believe the vehicle parts recovered may help identify the make and model. Deputies are canvassing the area for surveillance video from nearby businesses and checking Flock cameras as part of the investigation.
