Man found deceased in roadway after being run over while standing next to bicycle

HOUSTON, TX – A man was found deceased in the roadway after being run over while standing next to his bicycle in Houston.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. in the 2000 block of Collingsworth.

According to the Houston Police Department, a male who appeared to be in his mid-30s was standing in the middle of the street beside his bicycle and had a backpack and other items with him when he was struck by a vehicle.

Witnesses stated the male was standing in the roadway next to the bicycle when he was hit.

The male’s identity is unknown at this time. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

One driver remained at the scene and told investigators he struck the male. It is possible other vehicles may have also run over the victim and did not remain at the scene.

No signs of alcohol were observed with the driver who remained. The investigation is ongoing.
