HOUSTON, TX – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving an SUV at the intersection of North Post Oak and Woodway in Houston.
According to the Houston Police Department, the crash occurred around 9:19 p.m. An 18-year-old male riding a crotch-rocket type motorcycle was traveling westbound on Woodway when the collision occurred.
Witnesses stated the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic before striking the passenger side of a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was turning onto North Post Oak Lane to head north.
The motorcyclist struck the passenger side of the SUV and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Grand Cherokee, a male believed to be in his mid-50s, was not injured. The driver was reportedly heading to a nearby store to pick up Mucinex for his daughter because she was not feeling well.
The driver of the SUV is believed to not be intoxicated. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, but it appears the motorcyclist was at fault.
