HOUSTON, TX – A wrong-way driver was killed after causing a multi-vehicle crash along Highway 6 North.
The crash occurred in the 4100 block of Highway 6 North around 11:01 p.m.
Police said a driver was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when the vehicle struck another vehicle traveling in the middle lane. Debris from the impact then struck two additional vehicles traveling southbound.
Two drivers were transported to a hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. The wrong-way driver, identified only as a female at this time, was pronounced deceased.
Police also said a woman was arrested after she drove into the crash scene and is believed to have been under the influence.
Investigators said the wrong-way driver is believed to be the at-fault driver. It is unknown at this time if speed or intoxication were factors in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
