Man bitten by K-9 after leading deputies on a chase in northwest Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A driver led deputies on a high-speed chase lasting approximately 20 minutes after failing to stop during a traffic stop attempt near Spring Cypress and Highway 249.

The pursuit began around 10:23 p.m. and continued from Highway 249 to the 4100 block of State Highway 6, where the vehicle came to a stop.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a male and female exited the vehicle and fled into nearby woods. A K-9 unit was deployed, and when the female saw the dog got a hold of the male suspect, she came out with her hands up and was detained.

The male suspect was bitten by the K-9 and transported by EMS to a hospital. He was taken into custody, while the female was later released.
