HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A man was shot multiple times by deputies following a family disturbance call in the 10700 block of Wolsley Court on Wednesday evening.
Video from the scene above shows Hinn being unloaded from an ambulance and transferred to a Life Flight helicopter before being taken to the hospital for surgery. He remains hospitalized, and charges of aggravated assault on a public servant are pending. Once his condition allows, he will be booked into the Harris County Jail.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded around 7 p.m. after a woman reported fighting with her husband, stating he was armed with a gun. Deputies contacted the woman upon arrival, who told them her husband had assaulted her and was still inside the home with the weapon.
Three uniformed deputies approached the rear of the residence and encountered the suspect, identified as 66-year-old David Hinn. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Hinn failed to comply with commands and pointed his handgun at deputies, prompting all three to fire. Hinn was struck multiple times.
One deputy sustained a minor head injury, possibly from bullet fragmentation, and was treated overnight at a local hospital.
The shooting is under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit and Internal Affairs Division, as well as the Harris County District Attorney’s Office Civil Rights Division. The case will be presented to a Harris County Grand Jury for review.
