A 10-year-old girl was injured after being struck by a vehicle while riding an electric scooter at Lincolns Meadow Drive and Dukes Run Drive.

According to Constable Mark Herman, the preliminary investigation indicates the girl entered the intersection after failing to stop at a stop sign. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Deputies applied a tourniquet because of the girl’s injuries and significant bleeding. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Westbound Lincolns Meadow Drive was closed while emergency crews investigated and cleared the scene.
