17-year-old charged with capital murder in fatal shooting of Jose Acosta

HOUSTON, TX – A 17-year-old has been charged with capital murder in the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Jose Acosta on Corder near Tierwester.

According to the Houston Police Department, Acosta and his 15-year-old brother were inside a vehicle when three males allegedly robbed them at gunpoint around 7:45 p.m. on August 3rd.

Acosta attempted to drive away when the suspects began shooting at the vehicle, striking him. The vehicle came to a stop in a ditch.

Houston Fire Department paramedics transported Acosta to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased on August 4th. His brother was not injured.

Investigators identified Crishaad Adams as a suspect. He was arrested on August 21st and charged with capital murder in the 487th Criminal District Court.
