Responding Westside patrol officers confirmed the remains appeared to be skeletal. According to police, at least two parts of a skull were visible. Investigators believe the remains are from one adult, but the gender, age, and cause of death are unknown at this time. According to investigators, a suspect banged on the victim’s apartment door, leading to a fight that spilled into the parking lot. The suspects opened fire, striking a male and female in their early 20s. A third pedestrian was not struck. Houston Fire Department crews transported both victims to the hospital, where they remain in stable condition. A round may have struck a nearby hotel, but no one inside was injured. According to investigators, the child and several friends were ringing doorbells of homes in the area and running away.
