HOUSTON, TX – Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man found at 123 North Drennan Street about 5:55 a.m. on Aug. 7. According to the Houston Police Department, Aaron Bartholomew Sheehan, 40, is charged with murder in the 482nd State District Court in connection with the death of Anival Elvir Ortiz, 77. HPD stated that officers responded to a stabbing call at the address and learned Elvir Ortiz had been wounded. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. HARRIS COUNTY, TX – According to Constable Mark Herman, Pct. 4, missing 16-year-old Skye Meiler was found safe in Huntsville, Texas, shortly after an Amber Alert was issued. Herman also thanked the Huntsville Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Park Rangers for their assistance in helping Constable Detectives bring her home safely.

HUNTSVILLE, TX – Marquel Wiley has been charged with capital murder in connection with a shooting that occurred on Essex Boulevard on the morning of Aug. 13, 2025. Responding officers discovered two victims at the scene. One victim was pronounced deceased, and the other was transported by life flight for treatment of serious injuries. Wiley fled the scene on foot through a wooded area from Essex Boulevard toward FM 2821 before being taken into custody. As the situation unfolded, Huntsville Police Department School Resource Officers and Huntsville ISD Administration were notified. Police said the adult male victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. According to investigators, the suspects, who were masked at the time of the shooting, fled the scene in a white SUV.
