On Saturday, November 18th, 2023, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Harris County Pct. 4 Constable's Office patrol units responded to a shooting at the Cashel Springs apartments, located at 14222 Wunderlich. They found 20-year-old Malachi Lopez with a gunshot wound. Lopez was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Tragically, the following morning, Malachi Lopez was pronounced deceased. The Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit has taken over the case, but as of now, no motive for the shooting has been determined, and no witnesses to the incident have been located.
