According to police, the officers were traveling northbound to assist other officers at a fatal stabbing scene in the 7300 block of Bigwood, where the suspect was still on scene. Investigators believe the officers' vehicle was struck by another vehicle possibly exiting a nearby parking lot or side street. Moments later, the patrol unit caught fire. Approximately 65 to 70 people were found inside the club, which was described as a small, confined space lacking sprinklers, fire exits, or proper city permits. HOUSTON, TX – A woman was fatally stabbed by her grandson during a disturbance at an apartment in the 7000 block of W Bellfort early Saturday morning. https://youtu.be/GTagLr1slFc The incident occurred around 2:15 a.m. According to preliminary information from HPD, the grandmother called 911 after her grandson began physically fighting with her. When officers arrived, the grandson reportedly began fighting with them as well. The woman, believed to be in her mid-60s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The suspect, her 25-year-old grandson, is believed to suffer from schizophrenia and may have been off his medication at the time. HPD's Homicide Division is investigating. HOUSTON, TX – Arson is suspected in a fire that occurred early Saturday morning at a vacant residence in the 1200 block of Bigelow Street. https://youtu.be/2PFulE-vY_w HFD responded to the scene around 12:47 a.m. and confirmed that the home had no power and was unoccupied at the time of the fire. According to HFD, they believe someone may have thrown a rock and intentionally set the fire. The homeowner reportedly lives next door. No injuries were reported.
