Couple found deceased in Fordyce home; ASP investigating

FORDYCE, Ark. – The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division is conducting a death investigation following the discovery of two deceased individuals inside a residence in the 1700 block of West 4th Street. File Photo (August 2025) According to the Dallas County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the home around 11 a.m. on Monday, September 15, along with Fordyce Police, after receiving a report of two unresponsive people. Upon arrival, authorities located David Parham, 81, and Holly Parham, 70, both of Fordyce. They were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Dallas County Coroner. The bodies will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the cause and manner of death.

HEBER SPRINGS, AR – Special Agents with the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division have arrested Zackery Cothren, 47, Director of the Cleburne County Public Library, on felony charges of Theft of Property and Abuse of Office. The arrest follows a May 22, 2025, request from Sixteenth Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Drew Smith after a Legislative Audit revealed questionable purchases and possible fraud involving library employees. On September 11, 2025, an arrest warrant was issued for Cothren. He was taken into custody at his residence in Cleburne County and transported to the Cleburne County Detention Center. Hot Springs man shot, suspect arrested after brief standoff

HOT SPRINGS, AR – Officers with the Hot Springs Police Department responded to a reported shooting around 8 a.m. on September 10, 2025, at 148 Murray Street. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, identified as Lushian Woodson, who stated he had been shot. Medical personnel observed a gunshot wound to Woodson’s upper torso, and he was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The department’s Criminal Investigations Division took over the case and identified 28-year-old John Lee Scott as the suspect. A warrant for Battery in the First Degree was issued for his arrest. Arkansas inmate found dead at Cummins Unit; homicide investigation underway

GOULD, AR – Special Agents with the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division are investigating the death of an inmate at the Arkansas Department of Corrections (ADC) Cummins Unit. Joseph Fairchild, 21, was found non-responsive during a security check at approximately 2 a.m. on Thursday, September 11. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Fairchild was serving a sentence for First-Degree Battery out of Pulaski County. A 25-year-old inmate who shared a cell with Fairchild has been identified as a suspect in the case. Fairchild’s body will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine the manner and cause of death.

Missing mother and daughter last seen in Judsonia found safe

JUDSONIA, AR – Taylor Mosley, 28, and her 7-year-old daughter, Jazzlen Mosley, who were the subjects of a Missing/Endangered Child Advisory issued by the Arkansas State Police, have been found safe. The advisory was initiated at the request of the White County Sheriff’s Office after the pair were last seen on September 2, 2025, near Raines Road in Judsonia. They were believed to be traveling with Landon Gleason in a 2013 black Chevrolet Cruze. Authorities have since confirmed that both Taylor and Jazzlen have been located and are safe. ST. GEORGES, DE – A Wilmington man has been arrested following a crash in the parking lot of St. Georges Technical High School that left two people injured. According to Delaware State Police, the incident happened on September 9, 2025, around 3 p.m., while school was in session. A School Resource Officer was alerted that a Tesla was driving erratically in the wrong direction through the school’s parking lot and had struck another vehicle. The Tesla, driven by 45-year-old Andrew Naylor of Wilmington, crashed into three parked vehicles — a Volkswagen Jetta operated by a 55-year-old Delaware City woman, a Chevrolet Trax driven by a 42-year-old Middletown man, and a Honda Civic driven by a 45-year-old Townsend man. Troopers seize 45 pounds of marijuana during I-40 traffic stop in Pottsville

POTTSVILLE, AR – Arkansas State Police reported the arrest of a Little Rock man after troopers discovered 45 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on Interstate 40. According to authorities, the stop happened around 3 a.m. on September 10, 2025, when troopers pulled over a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze near the 87-mile marker on eastbound I-40 in Pottsville. During the search, troopers found two trash bags in the trunk containing approximately 45 pounds of illegal marijuana. The driver, identified as 28-year-old Breon Desean Baker of Little Rock, was arrested and taken to the Pope County Detention Center. He was booked on felony charges of Possession with Purpose to Deliver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

FAYETTEVILLE, AR – The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred September 7, 2025, at an apartment complex in the 300 block of North Garnet Court. Fayetteville police responded around noon to reports of a gunshot. While attempting to contact occupants, additional shots were fired from inside the apartment toward officers. The subject inside, identified as 42-year-old Brandon Poulter of Fayetteville, continued firing, including at an armored vehicle. Fayetteville officers returned fire, striking Poulter. COTTON PLANT, AR – The First Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney has determined that a Woodruff County Sheriff’s Office deputy was justified in the use of force during an officer-involved shooting on August 8, 2025.
