ASP investigating fatal shooting of 22-year-old woman at Camden apartment

CAMDEN, ARKANSAS — The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division has launched a homicide investigation following a fatal shooting in Camden. At approximately 5:45 p.m. on October 19, 2025, Camden Police responded to a shooting at an apartment in the 100 block of Fort Landing Manner. Officers arrived to find a woman inside the apartment with a gunshot wound. The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Kimaria Wilson of Camden. Despite emergency efforts, she was pronounced dead at approximately 8:30 p.m. by the Ouachita County Coroner. Her body will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the official cause and manner of death.

ASP investigating homicide after body found in ditch along Highway 256 in Lonoke County

ENGLAND, ARKANSAS — The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a homicide after a body was found in a ditch off Arkansas State Highway 256. According to ASP, the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance around 12:30 p.m. on October 17, 2025. The body was located approximately one mile south of the Mulberry Cemetery. The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Nathan Hall of Benton. Special Agents with the Criminal Investigation Division have launched a homicide investigation. Hall’s body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the cause and manner of death.

Former Swifton officer arrested on arson charge following house fire

SWIFTON, AR – Special Agents with the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division arrested a former Swifton police officer in connection with a house fire reported earlier this year. File Photo (October 2025) Benjamin Drake Slagley, 30, was arrested on October 13, 2025, and charged with one count of arson. The arrest stems from an August 30 fire at Slagley’s residence in Swifton, which he reported to 911 while still employed as an officer. Following the incident, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of ASP CID. Slagley has since resigned from his position with the Swifton Police Department. He was taken into custody and booked into the Jackson County Detention Center. The investigation remains ongoing.

EARLE, ARK. – The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division is requesting public assistance following a fatal hit-and-run that killed an 18-year-old service worker on Interstate 40. The incident occurred Friday, October 10, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m. near the 262-mile marker, just east of the Earle exit. Troopers responded after receiving a report of a service truck parked on the shoulder with flashing hazard lights and a person lying in the right lane of traffic. Upon arrival, they found Jacob Allen Marquis of Marked Tree deceased at the scene. Marquis had been dispatched to repair a tire and arrived at the location around 8:36 p.m., according to preliminary findings. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on October 7 in the 100 block of Ebony Way in western Garland County. Deputies had responded to a report of a man allegedly swinging a shovel at a passing vehicle. SUCCESS, ARK. – The Arkansas State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash that claimed three lives late October 8, 2025, in Clay County. According to the Arkansas State Police, the crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. on State Highway 211, north of the town of Success. Troopers arrived to find a 2001 Nissan Xterra that had veered off the roadway, entered a ditch, struck a tree, and caught fire. The driver, identified as 19-year-old Izabella Brasfield of Marmaduke, and two passengers, 19-year-old Tara Calhoun and 45-year-old Michelle Braman, both of Corning, were pronounced deceased at the scene. WEST HELENA, AR – A Phillips County jury has sentenced Donterious Stephens, 21, of Helena-West Helena, to life in prison for the 2024 prom night shooting death of 18-year-old Lorenzo Harrison III. On Friday, October 3, 2025, Stephens was convicted of First-Degree Murder and received an additional 15-year sentence for a firearm enhancement. The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division and the Phillips County Sheriff's Office led the investigation, which identified Stephens as the suspect in the April 20, 2024, shooting. The incident occurred across the street from the Ater Warehouse in West Helena, where a post-prom party was taking place following Central High School’s prom. Harrison, a CHS senior, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
