BATON ROUGE, LA – A 29-year-old man was fatally shot following a fight at a barbershop in the 9700 block of Platt Drive, police said. According to Baton Rouge Police, the incident occurred on October 15, 2025, at approximately 5:49 p.m. Homicide detectives learned that a dispute broke out between a patron and an employee at the business. The patron, later identified as Sylvester Bouligny III, reportedly left the shop and returned with two other Black males. The group confronted the employee, and a physical altercation ensued. NEW ORLEANS, LA – New Orleans Police are investigating a homicide after a teenage male was found shot to death in Algiers on October 6, 2025. According to investigators, officers responded to the 3700 block of Texas Drive shortly after 8 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Fourth District officers found the victim on the ground suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. New Orleans EMS pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name and official cause of death after notifying next of kin and conducting an autopsy.
