Upon arrival, heavy smoke was coming from the “C” Building, which houses approximately 40 apartments. Officers and firefighters immediately began evacuating residents. SADDLE RIVER, NJ – A resident was bitten multiple times by an aggressive coyote while working in their yard on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, in the Oak Road area, according to Saddle River Police. The animal reportedly knocked the victim to the ground during the attack. Responding patrol officers located a visibly sick coyote in the area that showed no fear of humans. The animal was euthanized at the scene and taken by TYCO Animal Control for testing. The victim was transported to Valley Hospital for treatment. Police are urging residents to use caution. NEWARK, NJ — Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an aggravated assault involving a bus driver. According to police, the incident occurred around 6:19 a.m. on October 12, 2025, near South 10th Street and Springfield Avenue. A male suspect who had boarded an NJ Transit bus at 21st Street in Irvington leaned around the driver’s protective barrier and spat on the female driver’s face, hair, and clothing. GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ – A driver was killed and two others were seriously injured following a crash at the intersection of Berlin Cross Keys Road and Johnson Road in the Sicklerville section of Gloucester Township. The collision occurred around 10:13 p.m. on October 11, 2025, and involved a sedan and an SUV. According to Gloucester Township Police, the sedan was traveling toward the Black Horse Pike when it collided with the SUV in the intersection. All three individuals—two in the SUV and one in the sedan—were trapped in their vehicles and had to be extricated by fire personnel. All victims were transported to a nearby hospital. MAPLE SHADE, NJ – Maple Shade Police and the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in the parking lot of Jay’s Elbow Room Bar. Officers responded to a shooting call at approximately 2:04 a.m. at the bar’s location. When police arrived, no individuals involved in the incident were found at the scene. A short time later, they were notified that a male victim had arrived at Cooper University Hospital with a single gunshot wound reportedly sustained during the incident. GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ – Two officers were injured while apprehending a juvenile male suspected of attempting to burglarize vehicles in the Millbridge neighborhood, according to the Gloucester Township Police Department. Around 11:50 p.m. on October 3, officers responded to a report of suspicious individuals examining parked vehicles. Upon arrival, one officer located a male suspect hiding behind a boat in a driveway. When officers issued verbal commands, the suspect fled, prompting a foot pursuit. WHARTON, NJ – Giancarlo Morelli, of Wharton, New Jersey, was sentenced today to 48 months in federal prison for conspiring to create and distribute animal crush videos depicting extreme violence and sexual abuse against monkeys. According to court documents, Morelli paid another individual on 19 separate occasions for videos showing the torture and abuse of baby and adolescent monkeys. He also maintained extensive communications with the supplier, offering feedback on the videos and requesting specific content for future recordings. According to Saddle River Police, the first incident occurred Thursday evening near Chestnut Ridge Road and Werimus Road. A resident was attacked while walking his dog and sustained injuries that required medical treatment.
