HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting after a homeowner allegedly shot and killed a man attempting to steal his barbecue pit. The Harris County Sheriff's Office responded to a call in the 15000 block of Ralston Road near Kentington Oak around 5 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a deceased male. According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, preliminary investigations indicate the deceased allegedly stole or tried to steal a barbecue pit from a residence. HOUSTON - A Harris County deputy with Constable Mark Herman's Office arrested DeAndre Lipscomb on February 16, 2024, for animal cruelty. Deputies responded to a reported disturbance on the 8400 block of FM 1960 Bypass Road West, where a man was allegedly abusing a dog. Upon arrival, they identified the suspect as Lipscomb and found the dog with an injured front leg. Lipscomb was booked into the Harris County Jail on charges of animal cruelty. The Nissan Juke then crashed into a gray Honda CRV. The Nissan's driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while Leiva, his passenger, and the occupants of the Honda were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
