The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. According to a report by the Houston Police Department (HPD) Vehicular Crimes Division, the driver of a Dodge Durango was merging onto the East Freeway main lanes when the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was walking on the main lanes.
