December 2, 2023. - A Houston Police Department (HPD) officer, Sergeant M. Valle, 38, sustained multiple gunshot wounds in an early morning on Saturday on the 7000 block of Harwin Drive. The confrontation also resulted in the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old armed suspect, whose identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The incident occurred around 1:15 a.m., involving officers from the Midwest Patrol Division's Crime Suppression Team. During their investigation, officers encountered and briefly lost sight of the suspect.
