HOUSTON (February 24, 2024) A man was arrested following an assault on a woman and a subsequent standoff with SWAT officers at a hotel in southwest Houston. The incident occurred on Saturday at the Oyo hotel located in the 9600 block of Plainfield Street. Houston Police were called to the scene at approximately 6:17 p.m. after receiving reports of an assault. Upon arrival, officers were informed by witnesses that a man had assaulted a woman and forcibly taken her into a hotel room. Authorities were able to rescue the woman, who was then transported to the hospital in stable condition. When they arrived, they discovered two open side doors and were met by the victim's wife.
