HOUSTON, TX, July 15, 2023 — Houston Police Department (HPD) is investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at a house under construction at 7002 Sidney Street around 1:25 a.m. on Saturday. The victim has been identified as Ramiro Galvan Garza, 66, a construction worker. According a report from HPD Homicide Division, officers were flagged down by a family member of Mr. Galvan Garza who directed them to the construction site. Mr. Galvan Garza was found inside the building suffering from gunshot wounds. His family had used his phone to locate him after he failed to return home. HARRIS COUNTY - The Harris County Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit reports that around 9:50 p.m. on July 16, District Three deputies responded to a 911 call about a man found unresponsive with a gunshot wound in the yard of a home in the 14500 block of Victoria Street, East Harris County. Upon arrival, deputies discovered an unresponsive black male in his twenties with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim was known to frequent the area, although it's believed that he did not live there and may have been homeless. HOUSTON, TX - July 15, 2023 - Two children, a 12-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy, drowned while swimming at the marina side of Xtreme Off Road and Park The incident occurred at approximately 9 p.m. The Harris County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) responded to reports of the missing children and immediately deployed the Marine and Dive team. The HCSO team used a robot equipped with sonar to search the water. The bodies of the two children were found, matching the descriptions of the missing individuals. The family was at the scene and notified immediately after the discovery. A Chaplain was present on the scene. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

HOUSTON, TX - July 14, 2023 - Houston Police responded to a report of a suspicious male armed with a firearm in the 7100 block of Clarewood around 7:30 p.m. Upon arriving at the location, officers discovered a makeshift boxing ring where an illegal boxing match was taking place. Approximately 500 people were inside, and officers reported a strong smell of marijuana permeating the area. The police also found several tables set up with various narcotics available for sale, including marijuana, mushrooms, and other unidentified substances. The street value of the narcotics discovered on the scene is currently unknown. The police are now investigating the incident. More information will be shared as the investigation proceeds.

On July 15, 2023, at approximately 11:15 p.m., the Harris County Sheriff's Office DWI Enforcement Unit began a pursuit of a vehicle reportedly racing on Sam Houston Parkway in Houston. The pursuit continued for about 12 miles before ending when the suspect vehicle crashed into a house at the intersection of Foy and Wardmont. The crash resulted in four injuries. The three occupants of the vehicle were transported to a local hospital. The front-seat passenger of the vehicle sustained serious injuries. An elderly woman who was in the home at the time of the incident was also transported to the hospital and is reported to be in fair condition. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. The Assistant District Attorney of Harris County has revealed these charges in a recently released document. On June 23, 2023, Cody allegedly posed as a peace officer from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and managed to gain access to a local resident’s home. The charges assert that Cody’s intent was to exploit the resident’s trust and induce submission to his pretended authority. HOUSTON, July 12, 2023 — A 29-year-old man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred earlier this month, according to the Houston Police Department. George Dennis Western is facing murder charges in the 230th State District Court for the death of 30-year-old Erick Romero. The incident took place around 3:05 a.m. on July 3 at an apartment complex located at 1221 Redford Street. Responding officers found Romero in a parked vehicle with a gunshot wound. Paramedics from the Houston Fire Department pronounced him dead at the scene. Western was identified as the suspect following an investigation. He was arrested without incident on July 12.
