Sugarland, TX - A tragic domestic violence incident occurred on the night of April 16th, 2023, at approximately 11 p.m. at a residence on 4100 Issacks Way in Sugarland. A woman called authorities, reporting that she was being assaulted by her boyfriend. Upon arriving at the scene, an officer witnessed the assault in progress and saw the boyfriend shoot the female. The officer immediately exited the vehicle, prompting the suspect to open fire on the officer. In response, the officer returned fire. Charges have been filed against 52-year-old Lou Dustin Granados following an assault that took place at a residence on 4218 Crenshaw Street around 2:25 a.m. on Sunday, April 16. Granados is facing charges of aggravated assault of a family member in the 177th State District Court. Officers from the HPD Major Assaults and Family Violence Division were dispatched to the scene following a report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival, they discovered that Granados had assaulted a female and fired shots both inside and outside the residence. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult black female unresponsive from unknown causes. The woman was promptly transported via ambulance to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. Deputies interviewed the female's boyfriend, who reported that he and the victim were engaged in a sex act described as "erotic asphyxiation" when she became unresponsive.
