AMARILLO, TX – A suspicious bag that initially tested positive for explosive powder prompted a lockdown at Rick Husband International Airport on Saturday morning. According to the Amarillo Police Department, officers were called to the airport at 9:54 a.m. after TSA personnel located the bag. As a precaution, the airport was placed on lockdown while the APD bomb team responded to assess the situation. After a thorough investigation, the bomb team determined the bag was safe and there was no threat to the public. The airport resumed normal operations around 12:13 p.m. Officials thanked passengers and the public for their cooperation during the incident.

On September 13, 2025, around 7:00 p.m., a Honda motorcycle was traveling northbound on Dupont Boulevard in the right lane when it failed to stop for a red light and entered the intersection at a high rate of speed. APD provides update on homicide at Frontier Valley Mobile Home Park (Facebook) Officers responded around 10:30 p.m. to the 1400 block of Frontier Valley Drive after receiving a high-priority “shoot stab hot shot” call. 14-year-old charged in fatal shooting of 18-year-old in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, FL – A 14-year-old has been arrested in the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old on Jacksonville’s Westside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Police said officers found Marlon Lane, 18, with multiple gunshot wounds September 10 at an apartment complex on Labelle Street. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Detectives identified 14-year-old Keyon Byrd as the suspect. He turned himself in September 12, the same day a warrant was issued for his arrest. Byrd has been charged with murder and remains in custody.

Troopers responded around 4:26 a.m. to reports of a crash near Exit 23 on I-93 northbound. They located a yellow 2012 Hino 258/268 box truck in the trees within the median, having traveled across the crossover between the northbound and southbound lanes.
