One dead, one critically injured in early morning boating accident in Hitchcock

HITCHCOCK, TX – A man was killed and a woman critically injured following a boating accident in Hitchcock early Friday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. on October 17, 2025. According to the Galveston County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to assist the Hitchcock Police Department after two individuals were reportedly ejected from a vessel. The female victim was located and Life Flighted to UTMB Galveston, where she remains in critical condition. The Sheriff’s Office Marine Division and Dive Team later recovered the body of a 26-year-old male from the water. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. COLUMBIA, PA – A woman sustained minor injuries after suffering a medical emergency that led to a dramatic crash into multiple porches in the 500 block of North Third Street. According to Columbia Borough Police, the incident occurred on October 13, 2025, at approximately 11:37 a.m. when the woman was driving south on Chickies Hill Road and began to feel ill. Police say she lost consciousness, causing her vehicle to accelerate uncontrollably. KOOTENAI COUNTY, ID – A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on crash involving a truck near the Fernan Saddle area in the Coeur d'Alene National Forest. The crash occurred on October 16, 2025, at approximately 3:15 p.m., according to the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office. Deputies and fire rescue personnel responded to the scene and located the male motorcyclist trapped beneath the truck. He was pronounced deceased upon their arrival. DODGE COUNTY, WI – A 64-year-old woman from Janesville was killed in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of County Highway I and County Highway E in the town of Burnett. The crash occurred at approximately 11:26 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025. According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, the woman was driving a 2020 Chevy Blazer northbound on County Highway I when her vehicle entered the intersection and was struck by a westbound 2005 Sterling dump truck. The dump truck was being driven by a 66-year-old man from Randolph. County Highway E has the right-of-way at the intersection, while County Highway I is controlled by stop signs.
