Shooter arrested in killing of off-duty Harris County Constable Deputy

HARRIS COUNTY, TX - The alleged shooter in the killing of off-duty Harris County Precinct 3 Deputy Constable Omar Ursin has been taken into custody. According to court documents, Douglas Wooten rolled down the back window of a vehicle and fired four shots at the car Ursin was driving. Ursin then crashed into a tree and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Court documents also reveal that Wooten claimed he fired because Ursin allegedly pointed a gun at him and others. Investigators determined that Gonzalez Chacin, who displayed signs of intoxication at the scene, collided with another vehicle.
