According to HFD, they believe someone may have thrown a rock and intentionally set the fire. The homeowner reportedly lives next door. No injuries were reported. HFD Arson is investigating the incident.

HOUSTON, TX – A fatal rollover crash occurred on US 90 in the inbound lanes near Mercury Drive Friday night. https://youtu.be/nKvDq0deuDc The incident was reported at approximately 8:07 p.m. when Northeast patrol officers were dispatched to a one-vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers and Houston Fire Department personnel located an overturned vehicle off the roadway. One adult male was found at the scene and pronounced deceased. HOUSTON, TX – A hit-and-run was captured on dashcam around 9:50 p.m. Friday night on Wallisville Road near Oates Road in east Houston. https://youtube.com/shorts/Cw92Edk3Bf0?feature=share Dashcam footage shows a truck that was already sitting at the light move forward and rear-end another vehicle. The truck then reversed and fled the scene, heading north on Oates Road. The driver of the struck vehicle got back into his car and pursued the fleeing truck. The final outcome of the chase is unknown at this time.

According to a witness who shared the footage, “Nasty fatal crash, everyone that was around ran to it. Did everything they could to help everyone and the guy inside the car. Unfortunately, he died burning alive.” The incident began near 8821 Westheimer Road when officers with Memorial Village Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle for having no tail lights. Upon arrival, they made contact with the female, who was determined to be the victim of an assault. The man and woman are believed to have been in a former dating relationship. HOUSTON, TX – A male motorcyclist was pronounced deceased following a crash involving a dirt bike and a pickup truck at the intersection of Greens Road and Gears Road. https://youtu.be/ag5MzkTzRok The collision occurred around 9:30 p.m. Preliminary information indicates the pickup truck was traveling westbound on Gears Road and attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Greens Road when it collided with a dirt bike traveling eastbound. The rider was ejected and struck a separate vehicle that was stopped at the light. CPR was administered at the scene, but the rider was pronounced deceased shortly afterward. HOUSTON, TX – A man in his early to mid-20s is in critical condition following a shooting near a gas station exit in the 6300 block of Windswept. https://youtu.be/OgvqjvVLwUY The incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. Officers responded to a shooting call and located a Hispanic male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital and underwent surgery. A second individual, who was not critically injured, arrived at the hospital shortly afterward and is believed to be connected to the incident. The Houston Police Department’s Major Assaults Division is investigating.

HOUSTON, TX – A United Airlines flight bound for Frankfurt was diverted back to Houston shortly after takeoff Saturday evening. https://youtu.be/C9VKiiZJtnE Flight N217UA, operated on a Boeing 777-200, departed Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) at 6:24 p.m. CDT on May 31, 2025, but returned to IAH by 8:14 p.m. The Houston Fire Department met the aircraft upon arrival. HOUSTON, TX – A brief police pursuit ended around 2 a.m. after a suspect crashed a stolen vehicle into a home in the 6700 block of Cotton. https://youtu.be/upzzbxiMxJM Officers had spotted the stolen vehicle they were searching for in the area and initiated a short pursuit. After officers used an approved stopping technique, the driver lost control and crashed into a home. The suspect fled the scene on foot following the crash but was detained by officers shortly after. A 25-year-old man, who was in bed inside the home at the time of the crash, sustained injuries. He was transported by the Houston Fire Department to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

HOUSTON, TX – A law enforcement pursuit that began around 11:50 p.m. in Houston traveled across multiple counties before ending near Cleveland, Texas, shortly after 12:30 a.m. https://youtu.be/UT00AEpWPDg The chase reportedly started somewhere in the loop. The driver continued north through Harris and Montgomery counties before ending up in Liberty County. The pursuit ended when the driver exited the roadway near Majnik and Dudley on the U.S. 59 North Bypass, using the U-turn under the Eastex Freeway in Cleveland. The driver, who was operating a pickup truck, was evaluated by EMS on scene but was not transported to a hospital. The pursuit may have been initiated on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
