Smith, wanted on federal bank robbery charges, was taken into custody following a public tip. The pursuit lasted less than 15 seconds before the F-150 ran a red light at Smith and Elgin streets, colliding with a white Lexus. HOUSTON, TX – A black pickup truck ended up perched on top of a concrete barrier along the North Freeway near North Main Sunday afternoon. Emergency crews, including Houston Fire Department units, responded to the crash and were seen on scene along with a tow truck. The truck came to rest with its rear wheels elevated on the median, partially blocking traffic. Traffic was slowed in the area as responders worked to safely remove the vehicle from the barrier. The driver fled southbound at a high rate of speed, running multiple red lights as the deputy pursued.
