HOUSTON, TX – Two suspects have been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Jaylon Ward at the Ramada by Wyndham Houston Westchase, located at 2451 Hayes Road, around 3:15 a.m. on November 2. https://youtu.be/WfCl0ZAZDXo According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to the hotel and found Ward deceased inside a room with at least one gunshot wound. Investigators determined that Ward was shot following an argument with another person inside the room. Further investigation identified Gabriel Isaiah Menefee, 23, as the suspect. Menefee was arrested on November 6 and charged with murder in the 263rd Criminal District Court. HOUSTON, TX – A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene in the 7900 block of West FM 1960 around 9:38 p.m. According to the Houston Police Department, a Hispanic male, believed to be between 40 and 50 years old, was walking across FM 1960 when he was hit by a single vehicle. The driver did not stop to render aid and left the area following the crash. Investigators said they have a possible lead on the suspect vehicle, described as a gray truck, and may know its location. It is not known at this time whether intoxication played a role in the crash. When officers arrived, they found an adult male in front of the apartment complex suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Officers performed CPR until Houston Fire Department personnel arrived and transported the man to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Fire Department responded to a trailer fire behind a residential property in the 6000 block of Hopper around 10:19 p.m. https://youtu.be/HoXB4cgccls After extinguishing the blaze, firefighters discovered a deceased adult male inside the trailer. The Houston Police Department’s Homicide Division and HFD’s Arson investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.

HOUSTON, TX – Officers with the Houston Police Department responded to a report of a shooting inside the Luxury Inn & Suites on Easthaven where a male was found with a gunshot wound to the leg. https://youtu.be/rXt05ZzN9EQ According to HPD, a witness said she didn’t really see what happened but stated that two males were showing each other a gun when it discharged, striking one of them in the leg. The injured male told officers he did not know who shot him. One of the men left the scene and has not returned, and it remains unclear what exactly occurred. The shooting is believed to be accidental at this time, though the investigation is ongoing.

HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Police Department responded to a shooting just before 9 p.m. in the 9600 block of Clarewood Drive, in Houston’s Chinatown area. https://youtu.be/0asJM1G050A According to HPD, a man was robbed in the 6300 block Westline (near Clarewood) when a gray car with two Hispanic males in their 20s pulled up. One of the suspects fired a shot into the air, and when the victim tried to get away, he was shot once and robbed. The victim was transported to a local hospital by Houston Fire Department crews and is in stable condition at this time. Police did find at least one shell casing at the scene.
